All adults attending Blissful Minds for the purposes of counselling are required by law to agree to the following terms and conditions.

Blissful Minds: Terms and Conditions of Counselling

Your Counsellor and you will reach an agreement as to the nature of the therapeutic process. Your Counsellor and you will evaluate your progress throughout sessions. You agree to follow up on approaches and techniques described by your Counsellor outside of session times. You have the right to question the techniques prescribed by your Counsellor.

Confidentiality

As part of providing the best possible counselling service to you, your counsellor will need to collect and record personal information that is relevant to your current situation. This information will be stored securely within the Counsellor’s Practice. In some circumstances, confidentiality may be broken. The circumstances could include but are not limited to:

  1. You ask your Counsellor to break confidentiality because you consider that to be in your best interest (This may be to your employer, family member or a relevant medical body).
  2. There is a risk of harm to you or to someone else. The Counsellor’s Duty of Care may require steps to be taken to minimise any danger. Where possible, a proposed course of action would usually be discussed with you first.
  3. The Counsellor is legally compelled by a court of law, or disclosure is mandatory by law (such as terrorist activities, abuse of a child or vulnerable adult).
  4. If your counselling sessions are being paid for by an Employment Assistance Program (EAP), your business will be contacted if you do not attend a session.
  5. If the fee for you session is not paid on the day of the session or the due date of the invoice, your demographic details will be forwarded to a debt collection agency.

Limits of Counselling

It is unacceptable for you to attend a counselling session whilst under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

It is also unacceptable for you to behave in a destructive, violent or abusive manner. Under these circumstances, the session will be terminated and the session will be charged in full.

If you are suggesting harm or harming yourself in a session, the appropriate authorities will be notified, and a plan will be put in place to support you and the session will be charged in full.

Fees and Conditions

Counselling sessions run for 50 minutes.The applicable fee is payable prior to commencement of the session, otherwise the session may be cancelled by the counsellor.

Cancellation Policy

If you need to cancel or postpone your counselling session, you must give at least 24 hours’ notice, otherwise the session will be charged in full.
